Supporting parents with children who are deaf/hard of hearing
helps create vibrant, inclusive and equitable communities.
Why is your support needed?
More than 90% of children who are born deaf/hard of hearing are born to hearing parents.
In Texas, a medical diagnosis of being deaf/hard of hearing at birth does not have a clear path for language, social/emotional, or educational support. This can create a developmental emergency.*
Families often don’t feel empowered or have enough information to make time-sensitive decisions that set their children up for success.
Supported families are able to access the interventions needed to improve outcomes for their children.
Why people and businesses give to TXHV?
I believe all children should have the opportunity to live out their full potential.
When children and families are thriving we create vibrant communities.
I’ve seen the difference it makes when families feel supported when faced with a challenge.
We believe that we should have inclusive and equitable communities
