Supporting parents with children who are deaf/hard of hearing helps create vibrant, inclusive and equitable communities.

Why is your support needed?

  • More than 90% of children who are born deaf/hard of hearing are born to hearing parents.

  • In Texas, a medical diagnosis of being deaf/hard of hearing at birth does not have a clear path for language, social/emotional, or educational support. This can create a developmental emergency.*

  • Families often don’t feel empowered or have enough information to make time-sensitive decisions that set their children up for success.

  • Supported families are able to access the interventions needed to improve outcomes for their children.

Why people and businesses give to TXHV?

  • I believe all children should have the opportunity to live out their full potential.

  • When children and families are thriving we create vibrant communities.

  • I’ve seen the difference it makes when families feel supported when faced with a challenge.

  • We believe that we should have inclusive and equitable communities
