TX GBYS Coordinator
My name is Michaela Hamaker and I have been with Texas Hands & Voices for three years as the Guide By Your Side Coordinator. My husband Kevin and I have three children together, two of whom are deaf. My son is a graduate of Texas School for the Deaf and my daughter is in middle school there currently. I have been involved in the Deaf/HH community for over 20 years, both as a mom to deaf children and as a supporter. I am a volunteer at TSD and serve on several other committees/projects across the state. I'm passionate about that work as I feel that all children should be equipped to reach their highest potential. I am delighted to work with the Guide By Your Side program because I believe that the parent to parent connection is invaluable! I am proud to be able to help provide such support to parents throughout Texas.
